The majorette troupe aims to offer young people aged from 4 upwards a fun, modern and colourful club to belong to. The troupe supports carnival.
All members must be registered, with consent from parents and are expected to pay a membership fee and a weekly training fee( these fees are determined by the committee). Parents will be expected to provide transport for appearances at carnivals/displays etc from time to time and or pay for coach fees for attendance of same.
Troupe members are encouraged to work as part of a team and should present themselves as ambassadors for the town.
The committee should meet at least once every calendar month.
Other than day to day expenses ( such as hiring of the training venue), all monies paid out must be sanctioned by three officers of the committee.
If a child has not attended a training session for two weeks without a valid reason, they are to be considered dismissed from the troupe.
The troupe will hold fundraising events and will accept donations.
The Annual General Meeting will be held each year in November. Officers to be elected - Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer.
One year must elapse before the troupe is deemed to have folded. All assets and cash should go to a group nominated by the remaining committee members. Those assets must remain in Chard.
The founding committee will undertake to ensure all adults present at training are police checked to an enhanced level through the CRB. Any new helpers or trainers must also be vetted through the procedure.
